One Friday in June of 2019, My husband, Todd, and I had a date night at C Salt Wine Bar & Grille here in Falmouth, Massachusetts. At the time, I worked from home on Fridays analyzing toxicology data for my job as a Laboratory Supervisor at an Addiction Medicine practice.

My mind wondered a lot this Friday. I was about to get laid off because the practice was being sold and the laboratory was closing. For at least a year, Todd was encouraging me to "sell the flowers". He didn't mean wood flower arrangements or bouquets. I was already doing that through Cape Craft Flowers. He meant to become a wood flower distributor. Meh, yeah okay, but what makes me so special? How am I different than anyone else? Whelp, it came to me this Friday.

I have always worked as support staff. At the Crime Lab, I analyzed evidence for attorneys and police officers to use to do their job. In the lab, I analyzed toxicology samples so that physicians could treat their patients appropriately. Now, I wanted to support wood flower florists and help them succeed in their businesses.
